Key Details

This course is designed to guide you through the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training in a logical and supportive format.

It involves a combination of presentations, video clips and learner activities to teach you the skills to successfully achieve the qualification from the comfort of your own home.

This course is designed to support the learner who wants to earn enough credit to enter university, by gaining (120 credits) from CET, then proceed their learning with Level 5 DET (120 credits).

What's in it for you?

Learners will achieve the nationally accredited Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. This qualification is Ofqual regulated and on the Qualifications and Credits Framework (VTCT).

The aim of the course is to get learners to reflect on their current teaching practice and compile evidence to demonstrate their competence within their teaching role. You will receive constructive and positive feedback for both your written answers and lesson observations, enabling you to grow in confidence and knowledge during your time on the course.

What's involved?

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training course is aimed at getting you to reflect and evaluate on your current teaching role and develop your teaching skills further.

The course is comprised of thirteen units. Upon enrollment you will be sent the electronic documents, including a presentation with video links, assessment template and work pack for each unit. Detailed guidance and support is given to enable you to answer the written assessments for each unit.

In addition, you are required to log 30 hours of your current teaching practice, including 3 hours of observations. Throughout your time on the course you will build up a portfolio of evidence including written answers, a teaching log, lesson, observations, and self-evaluations.

Who is it for?

The course is designed for learners that are either currently in a teaching role or have a teaching position that they will be commencing soon. The reason for this is that it is a reflective practice course and part of the assessment is logging 30 hours of teaching.

The qualification is designed for individuals teaching in both the private training industry and educational institutes. It encourages teaching practitioners to evaluate and develop their skills.

Upon successful completion of the course, learners can also progress to the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training and eventually gain full teacher status.
